How It Works

If you know how babysitting clubs work on paper, then understanding how this site works will be easy. If you don't, then read on:

There are three steps to getting started. These depend on whether you want to start a group or join an existing group...

Starting a group

Do this if you would like to use this site but do not have a group of friends already using the site. The following outlines the steps involved in setting up a new group:

  • Step 1: Create your group by going to the Create a group page, and submitting the completed online form. This will enable your one month free membership.
  • Step 2: Log on to the website with the email address and password you supplied in step 1.
  • Step 3: Get your friends to join your group

Once your friends start joining your group, you can get underway. Having established the group, you become the 'group coordinator'. This involves approving new members and resolving any disagreements about hours. This role can move between group members by telling us of such a change via the Contact Us page. See the FAQs for more details on the group coordinator role.

Joining an existing group

  • Step 1: Find out the group's name or ID of the group you wish to join (from a current member)
  • Step 2: Submit your membership request to us: enter one of those group identifiers into the Join a group page. We will then email the group coordinator seeking the group's approval for you to join them.
  • Step 3: Wait for your membership request to be approved by the group: Once they approve your group membership, you will receive a email confirming your one month free membership.
  • Step 4: Log on to the website with the email address and password you supplied in step 2 and start using your membership.

On-going use of the website services

Once you have a group with two or more members you can start using the features of the site. These include:

  • Requesting a babysitter for a specific date and time from your group members.
  • Submitting a claim for a babysitting event you carried out for someone in the group.
  • Approving a claim submitted to you by a sitter
  • Reviewing your balance and other group members' balances
  • Reviewing your sitting history within the group

Annual Membership

Getting started is free - we offer a one month free membership. This allows you to experience the value of the website without any cost. After a month, you can extend your membership to an annual subscription by making the $15.00 NZD payment. Details of how to make this payment will be provided to you by email prior to the expiry of your one month free membership.
